10 Participatory Arts initiatives in Matera

Matera, located in the Southern Italian region, is home to numerous creative people developing participatory arts projects that empower adults to unleash their creativity.

Most of them have a neighborhood-based involvement of people, by engaging local dwellers in the creative regeneration and embellishment, and creating a sense of belonging and social inclusion. Some others have more the dimension of personal discovery, development and improvement.

Some of them have also been involved in the consultation process to design the project methodology of the Erasmus+ project Motivate to Create.
